In the early 1970s, company founder Ueli Dubs from Mettmenstetten was still a policeman. Through his work, he got to know a Greek man who sold olives in pouches. The two men became friends, and the Greek olive expert wanted to sell his business to Ueli. At the last minute, however, the sale fell through, and Ueli Dubs was left with nothing.
But Ueli Dubs refused to give up:
“If he can do it, so can I!”, he thought, and founded Dumet AG (Dubs Mettmenstetten).
